NOUN Graduates to Participate in NYSC and Law School!

Finally, graduates of National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN can now participate in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and also attend Law School.

The Special Adviser to the Buhari, president of Nigeria on National Assembly Matters, Senator Ita Enang, disclosed this to State House correspondents on Friday, 7th December, 2018 in Abuja.

Senator Ita said; β€œThe president has assented to National Open University Amendment Act, which allows the National Open University to operate as all other universities, having the same power and functions and the same administrative structures.”

Before buhari assent, graduates of NOUN University have decried the alleged discrimination to participate in the one-year National Youth scheme, (NYSC).

The National Youth Service Corps has been issuing β€˜Letter of Exclusion from National Service’ to NOUN graduates.

Prior to the Presidential approval, NOUN law graduates had been refused admission into the Nigerian Law School and exempted from NYSC as well, a situation the Law graduates had described as unjust and discriminatory for years.
